Adult Individual Counseling

Individual counseling provides you with a sounding board for those issues you are facing. In individual counseling, you will have the opportunity to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors for the purpose of problem solving and achieving the highest possible level of functioning. You will be introduced to tools and healthy coping skills that will help you cope with the demands of your daily life.

Marriage and Couples Counseling

Relationships are one of the most difficult jobs we will encounter in life. In couples counseling, we will work to achieve a better level of functioning, to alleviate the presenting symptom/problem, and to better understand your partner. You will learn the “Art of Listening, “ which results in feeling validated, understood, and a more loving, satisfying relationship.

Distant Counseling/Tele-mental

Also, known as Online Counseling, Tele-mental,  E-Therapy. or Distance Counseling is the practice of obtaining help through telephone and video from the comfort of your own environment. This service is especially helpful for those who are home-bound, who live a considerable distance from the therapist’s office, who travel frequently, who have disabilities, and whose work schedule inhibits normal appointment hours. There are benefits and limitations to Distance Counseling.   A free telephone consultation is offered to determine if your situation is a good fit for Distance Counseling.

Critical Incident Stress Debriefing

A “critical incident” is any event that causes an unusually intense stress reaction impacted by violence and trauma. Through the process of “debriefing,” people are helped with coping and recovering from the incident’s aftereffects, which limits or reduces the development of post-traumatic stress. After exposure to a critical incident, it is not unusual for a person to experience difficulty in coping, impairing their ability to adjust. The debriefing setting offers an opportunity, to those exposed to a critical incident, to discuss their thoughts and feelings in a guided, controlled, safe environment.
